Dr. Pradeep Kumar, Visiting Professor at Industrial Systems Engineering (ISE) Programme of Asian
\nInstitute of Technology, Bangkok, is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical & Industrial
\nEngineering at Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. He has an outstanding academic record and
\nis a product of University of Roorkee (Now IIT Roorkee). During 1996, he was a Visiting Assistant
\nProfessor in the department of Industrial and Manufacturing System Engineering, West Virginia
\nUniversity, U.S.A. He had also served the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering,
\nWayne State University, U.S.A. as Visiting Faculty during 1998-1999. He had been a Visiting
\nProfessor in the Department of Industrial System Engineering, at AIT Bangkok, (2010). He has
\nserved the Department of System Engineering, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals,
\nDhahran, Saudi Arabia, as Visting Professor. (2013-2014). He also did serve the Delhi Technological
\nUniversity as Vice Chancellor (Aug 2014-Sept 2015).<\/p>\n
Prof. Pradeep Kumar has more than 28 years of experience in teaching, research, and consultancy.
\nHe had taught a wide spectrum of courses related to Industrial Engineering & Production
\nEngineering. He has supervised 37 Ph.D. theses, 90 M.Tech dissertations, 83 M.Tech projects and
\n50 B.Tech projects.\u00a0 He has published \/ presented\u00a0614 research papers in International and National
\nJournals (311); Proceedings of International and National Conferences (303). He has completed 51
\nconsultancy projects of various organizations and 17 sponsored research projects. He has Organized
\n24 short term courses. His research interests include Advanced Manufacturing Processes; Metal
\nCasting; Supply Chain\u00a0Management (SCM), Quality Engineering: Robust Design Methodologies,
\nReliability Engineering; and Production & Operations Management.<\/p>\n
Prof. Pradeep Kumar has received a number of prizes and honors.\u00a0 He was honored with an
\nOutstanding Teacher Award at IIT Roorkee two times, in the year, 2005, and 2009. He is a fellow of
\nWorld Confederation of Productivity Sciences, Canada.<\/p>\n
Prof. Pradeep Kumar is seconded to Asian Institute of Technology by the Ministry of Human
\nResource Development, Government of India. During his stay at ISE\/AIT, he will teach Engineering
