Simulation of the airflow characteristic inside a hard disk drive by applying a computational fluid dynamics software

This study demonstrates the application of STAR-CCM+ simulation software to
analyze airflow characteristics in a 2.5” hard disk drive, validating its robustness
with theoretical verification. The findings highlight the software’s accuracy in
solving CFD-related problems while emphasizing dependency on computer
speed. These insights pave the way for future research into optimizing simulation
techniques and hardware for enhanced computational efficiency.
